Miami Children’s Health Foundation is grateful for the opportunity to work with companies who repeatedly take their commitment to the next level by motivating the community and their employees to give back. Recently, our MCHF5K presenting sponsor, Citrix, did just that as its employees gathered on a Monday afternoon to participate in a service project for the patients and families of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.
The corporation, which focuses on developing software to make apps and data secure and easily accessible, reaches out to the community through its Corporate Giving Program. This time around, the program hosted a workshop where employees volunteered to assemble 500 care kits for patients of Nicklaus Children’s. The event was a complete success, as more than 60 employees signed up to set up the kits, which were made especially for newborns to 2-year-olds. The bags included socks, blankets, bibs and light-up bouncing balls, items to help make the patients’ stay at the hospital more comfortable. Employees also wrote notes to the patients and their parents as a way to wish them well and offer support while our moving Patient of the Month testimonials played in the background.
“We are so proud to support and give back to the kids at Nicklaus Children’s,” said Jo Moskowitz, director of corporate citizenship at Citrix. “Nothing else in the world compares to the feeling of fighting for and supporting a cause that is greater than yourself.” Thank you to Citrix and its team for their incredible support!
